Fake message of H1N1 outbreak in Melaka school spreading fear among parents

MELAKA: A fake audio WhatsApp message warning of a H1N1 outbreak at a Chinese primary school here is making its rounds. According to the man, he was informed of the outbreak by a customer whose daughter was one of the students affected. There are about 900 pupils registered in the school and attendance rate today was 90 per cent. "There was also no sudden admission of a large group of students at the hospital as alleged in the audio message," he said. Ng urged social media users to stop spreading the message as it has caused unnecessary fear among parents.
