PUTRAJAYA: The trial for former Road Transport Department (JPJ) deputy director-general Datuk Yusoff Ayob has concluded, with the verdict to be delivered on Oct 5. During the trial, the prosecution told the court that Yusoff had exceeded his powers as accorded by the law by driving on the emergency lane. "The only other person who could have driven the car at that point was the accused himself," said Muhammad Izzat. He said the road Yusoff used was proven to be an emergency lane, and there was no indication that his use of the lane had anything to do with overseeing an operation. Magistrate Muhammad Zaki Abd Kudos fixed Oct 5 to deliver his decision.
