Earlier this month when the four Rajya Sabha MPs defected to the BJP, Naidu and Lokesh were both holidaying in Europe. Other than this a few local TDP leaders, including an ex-MLA, have shifted sides to the BJP. He added that after the TDP’s rout in the 2019 assembly and Lok Sabha elections, a majority of the party leaders have been attacking Lokesh in private discussions. That meeting was held the same day as the four Rajya Sabha MPs resigned and joined the BJP. The four Rajya Sabha MPs who joined BJP won’t help it strengthen from the grassroots level.
