Victims of the Christchurch mosque shootings, the Covid-19 lockdown and Black Lives Matter protests are among the subjects captured by finalist for this year’s New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year 2020 title. An exhibition showcasing the top 40 images will be held at Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui A Tangaroa from September 2020–March 2021 titled, ‘A Year in Aotearoa’.
