Unilever, the company behind the popular laundry powder, has announced a plan to eliminate the use of of fossil fuel derivatives in its cleaning and laundry products. According to the American Petroleum Institute, thousands of common products contain are made with components derived from oil. Some of the synthetic sweeteners used in toothpastes also contain ingredients from fossil fuels. Some dyes and sweeteners used in toothpaste contain ingredients from fossil fuels.
