Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki said the government has expanded the training facilities to accommodate the increased number of recruits, who will be drafted into the service three times in a year. "The National Youth Service (NYS) training facility will now be able to accommodate about 15,000 recruits. Recruitment will be done thrice a year to meet the 45,000 target," she said. The CS noted that the programme has employed about 130,000 youths since it was launched in 2015.
