NV mayor seeks road repair fund

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Ambaguio Mayor Arnold Dinungon is seeking funds for the development of a road to boost the town’s eco-tourism potential and provide better roads for upland farmers. “We need this road development fund to provide better access roads for local and foreign tourists and to discourage influence of communist rebels that we are not doing something to uplift the economic development of our constituents,” he said during a meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council here. Dinungon said members of the New People’s Army frequenting upland villages in their town were capitalizing on undeveloped roads to gain support and sympathy from the villagers. He said these roads start from barangays Poblacion, Camandag and Napo, which serve as an alternative road for mountaineers going to Mt. Governor Carlos Padilla, PPOC chairman, said the proposal has been approved by the peace body and will endorse it to President Rodrigo Duterte through the Office of Presidential Assistant on the Peace Process.
