Speaking about Nahid’s comments, the NSU trustee board chief said President Hamid attended the convocations in 2014 and 2016. Shajahan would not say whether the NSU authorities had told Nahid about their views on his comments. According to the Maasranga TV report, NSU sets aside 30 to 40 percent of tuition fees for its development fund without showing it in accounts of income and expenditure. The NSU trustee board chairman said they spend the development fund on no other purpose than the development of the university. Vice-Chancellor Prof Atique Islam and several other members of the NSU Board of Trustees were present at the news briefing.
