PHNOM PENH: Just days after projections put Cambodia as the fastest growing economy among Asean nations, the nation dropped six spots in World Bank’s ease of doing business index. In the latest release of the index, Cambodia is ranked 144th out of 190 countries, a drop of six places from last year. An international economic expert based in Cambodia agreed that there were many areas that Cambodia needed to reform if it wanted to go up in the ease of doing business ranking. “Now, you need to set up a business before you can get a business visa,” he pointed out. Brunei is projected to grow 1.8 per cent this year and 4.7 per cent next year.
