The NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announced on January 13, 2026, that the party had initiated internal processes to expel Prof Frimpong-Boateng following what it described as disparaging remarks against the party’s leadership and internal structures. He added that any decision to expel Frimpong-Boateng should be extended to other longstanding members who share similar views. “What I will say at this stage is that if they sack Frimpong-Boateng, then they should sack me.
