The delegates of NPP Japan on Sunday 18th March 2018 re-elected the incumbent Chairman, Mr. Bernard Oppong-Kusi to continue as the Chairman of NPP Japan for the years ahead. At the end of the closely contested election, Mr. Bernard Oppong-Kusi obtained 64 votes against his main contender Dr. Samuel Amponsah, who secured 40 votes. In a statement, re-elected Chairman, Mr Bernard Oppong-Kusi, attributed his interest in the position to patriotism as well as dedication to the service of Ghana. Further to this, Mr. Bernard Oppong-Kusi noted that the assignment is not a matter of a mere contest but stepping up to do well in moving the party forward to achieve to recapture power again in the 2020 and beyond.
