NLCIL launches cleanliness campaign


Keeping it clean: Volunteers of the People Service Group and the public removing weeds on Silver Beach at Samiyarpettai village. A series of workshops for the self-help groups (SHGs) was held recently to train the public on sanitation and an awareness campaign to maintain cleanliness on the beaches as part the cleanliness fortnight observance by the CSR wing of NLC-India. Cleanliness at templeIn Maruthur, the campaign began with an exhortation by the chief medical officer of General Hospital, NLCIL, N. Nalini on maintaining a clean environment on the temple premises of Saint Vallalar. Team PSG enacted a skit on cleanliness with the public joining in with folk songs on nature. On Silver Beach, around 400 members of the public went around the streets of Samiyarpettai village in a rally to raise awareness on cleanliness.
