Long queues, stolen equipment, slow and delayed process, amid allegations of extortion by registration officials have characterised the exercise. Prof Attafuah said he cannot understand why there are registration challenges in view of the level of personnel and equipment deployed for the exercise in the region. “All the other regions, we had just a 1050 machines but in the Ashanti region, it was over 5000,” he said. Amid the frustrations, Prof Attafuah, is encouraging people to report misconduct of ‘unpatriotic’ registration officials to security agencies or NIA office for immediate attention.
