The NHL is looking into an apparent homophobic slur that Scotiabank Arena audio picked up from a player during the broadcast of Monday’s Maple Leafs-Lightning game. The Leafs were trailing 4-1 at the time in the second period and lost the game 6-2. A year earlier, Andrew Shaw, then with Chicago, was suspended for one game and fined $5,000 for directing a homophobic slur toward an official during a playoff game.
