A solid 53 percent majority of Americans blame Fox News for the spread of “extremist ideologies like white supremacy and anti-Semitism,” more than rival networks MSNBC and CNN. Respondents to the poll were asked “How responsible, if at all, do you believe each of the following are for the spread of extremist ideologies, such as white supremacy and anti-Semitism? Fox News.”Among all respondents, 53 percent said Fox News is “Very responsible” (33%) or “Somewhat responsible” (21%) for the spread of extremist ideologies such as white supremacy and anti-Semitism. Just 30 percent say Fox News is “Not too responsible” (14%) or “Not responsible at all” (16%) for the spread of extremist ideologies such as white supremacy and anti-Semitism. Fox was the only cable network to achieve a majority on this question, with minorities of 45 percent and 40 percent, respectively, blaming CNN and MSNBC for the spread of extremist ideologies such as white supremacy and anti-Semitism.
