According to the report, 411 people, including 53 women and 71 children, were killed and 725 others received injuries in 383 accidents in January. In March, 386 people, including 46 women and 82 children, were killed and 820 others were injured in 384 road crashes. NCPSRR General Secretary Ashis Kumar Dey said they identified 10 major reasons for increasing road accidents. In 2017, at least 4,284 people, including 516 women and 539 children, were killed and 9,112 others injured in 3,472 road accidents across Bangladesh. In 2016, there were 2,998 road accidents resulting in 3,412 deaths — including 470 women and 453 children — and 8,572 injured individuals.
