NATO chief urges end to Libya fighting


(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BRUSSELS, May 13 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Monday expressed "deep concern" over the situation in Libya and urged all parties to end the fighting and join again the political process. He made the statement following a meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya Ghassan Salame at NATO headquarters in Brussels today. He made clear that there is no military solution to the situation in Libya, noted a NATO statement. NATO will continue to urge all parties in Libya, and all members of the international community, to support the UN-led process, he stated. During his visit, Salame also briefed NATO ambassadors who reiterated that there is no military solution to the current crisis in Libya.
