GREENSBORO, N.C. – A North Carolina student’s message in a bottle traveled nearly 4,000 miles before a fisherman spotted it. The fisherman who stumbled upon the seafaring message had his nephew translate it, and his family reached out to the North Carolina school, officials say. She and her classmates put their messages into glass bottles for the school’s “Pirate Day” celebration, according to Greensboro Day School. The bottle was reportedly found near Guelmim, Morocco, which is in the western part of North Africa.
