The MENA region continues to serve as a cornerstone of the global LNG market, currently accounting for over one-third of global LNG exports. The region’s integrated strategies and growing flexibility are cementing its role as a global LNG powerhouse through the end of the decade. QatarQatar remains the leading LNG exporter in the MENA region, currently producing 77 million tpy. OmanWhile playing a relatively marginal role in the LNG market in the MENA region, Oman’s LNG sector has taken a significant step forward with the ground-breaking Marsa LNG project on 1 May 2025. Driven by rising global demand for lower-emission fuels and the structural shift away from coal and oil, LNG will remain a critical component of the global energy mix – and the MENA region is poised to deliver.
