From a press conference on Saturday, they demanded revision of the plan acquisition plan covering seven villages for divisional infrastructural development. Leaders of Homestead and Graveyard Protection Committee made the demands at the Mymensingh Press Club while supporting development activities under the newly-declared division. Vast tracts of farmland and households in Char Anandipur, Char Gobindapur, Char Ishwardia, Char Bhawanipur, Char Durgapur, Char Jelkhana and Char Lakshmir Algi of the upazila are on the list. The speakers suggested that the government land and those left abandoned on both sides of the Brahmaputra River be used for the development projects. The speakers claimed that they had repeatedly asked the government to work corresponding with the first list, but to no avail.
