New Delhi: The Indian government has secured the release of five Indian nationals abducted by Arakan Army, an insurgent group, in Myanmar’s Rakhine State. A member of Myanmar Parliament and four other nationals of the neighbouring country were also released. The released Indian nationals, along with the deceased, have reached Sittwe and will leave for Yangon on Tuesday for onward journey to India, the home ministry said in a statement. The instances of violence between the Arakan Army and Myanmar government in Rakhine state have been escalating.
