Soldiers of Myanmar’s Army and Border Guard Police (BGP) have reportedly torched two houses abandoned by the Rohingyas in a village near the no man’s land at Tambru border point, adjacent to Bangladesh’s Konarpara, on Thursday late night. He mentioned that the army and BGP men allegedly torched three other Rohingya houses in the same area on this February 19. After the Myanmar army crackdown in Rakhine began, thousands of members of the Rohingya minority were killed and numerous villages in the state torched by Myanmar security forces and Mogh extremists. They also demanded the deployment of a UN peacekeeping force in Rakhine state’s Rohingya majority areas and recognition of the Rohingyas as citizens of Myanmar.
