KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): MY EG Services Bhd (MYEG) has received a letter of acceptance from the Ministry of Health to undertake the provision of an online payment system for inbound travellers to pay for COVID-19 screening tests and quarantine charges, prior to their arrival in the country. The system is to be implemented at all entry points into the country, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia. “The project is intended to facilitate the implementation of the relevant Government measures to control the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus by enhancing and expediting the process of administering COVID-19 screening and designating quarantine locations for travellers, both Malaysians and non-Malaysians, arriving in Malaysia,” said the group. None of the directors or substantial shareholders of the company has any direct or indirect interest in the project, the group said. MYEG’s share price fell one sen or 0.72% to RM1.37, giving it a market capitalisation of RM4.92 billion.
