Integration into global value chainSmall and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local companies are able to form partnerships with MNCs to develop strong links along the supply value chain. Local companies support MNCs’ needs by providing the materials and components they require, which in turn helps the local companies to grow organically and gain a good reputation in partnering with MNCs. This contributes to our local SMEs adopting internationally benchmarked sustainability standards and elevating the adoption of sustainability within Malaysia’s supply ecosystem. As more companies, both local and foreign, embrace tenets of sustainability, these will positively impact the local population, the environment and the economy.
