My Life in Books, Mary O’Donnell: ‘I was flattered when she said she was glad not to have read it while pregnant’


Mary O’Donnell is a poet and fiction writer who has been publishing since 1990. I’m reading Olivia Laing’s Everybody: A Book About Freedom, a book of essays on body and mind. It’s a Woman Writer! My grandfather had a set of old illustrated medical books which found their way to our house. I think if I were young I’d want to be her.
