Cavan scored their second Division 2 Allianz FL win in succession with goals either side of the half-time break working the oracle for Mickey Graham's men against Laois. Cavan were off the mark inside 15 seconds when Oisin Pierson fired over but John O'Loughlin replied minutes later with a fine effort at the other end. Cavan defender Gerard Smith hit the first of three brilliant scores from wing back before Laois received a tonic when Eoin Lowry scrambled the ball to the Cavan net to lead 1-2 to 0-4 after 22 minutes.
