The victim Nizam Hossain, who hailed from Noakhali, was arrested on Friday night, said Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Khandker Golam Shahnewaz. He said Nizam was charged in four cases of murder, robbery and abduction. "Police took Nizam with them on a raid to recover weapons at dawn on Saturday. His accomplices opened fire and the police retaliated. Police said they found a firearm, two rounds of ammunition and sharp weapons at the scene.
