Multiple car crash on Wellington highway causes mass delaysJAMES PAUL/STUFF One of the crashed cars on State Highway 1 in Ngauranga Gorge on Wednesday evening. A three-car crash on State Highway 1 in Wellington's Ngauranga Gorge blocked one southbound lane, and caused heavy traffic buildup. The crash, in the southbound lane near the turnoff to State Highway 2 and Hutt Rd, happened about 5.30pm. NZTA Traffic is heavy along State Highways 1 and 2 following a three-car crash. However, police said earlier that delays were expected for most of the evening.
