Thirteen people died and at least 40 were injured when the boiler of the Multifabs factory's dyeing section exploded. The district administration and the fire service opened separate probes over the incident. Kabir said the probe body recommended 20 suggestions to avoid future disasters, including updating the existing 1923 law for boilers. The eight-member probe led by a magistrate recorded testimonies of 29 witnesses, he added. Quoting the findings of the probe, Kabir said the factory had two boilers.
