After over two decades of political and personal acrimony, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday campaigned in favour of Samajwadi Party (SP) patron Mulayam Singh Yadav in his home turf, Mainpuri. Mr. Yadav, who spoke first, asked the crowd to honour her with claps. Ms. Mayawati also drew a parallel between Mr. Yadav and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the SP founder was not a "fake and false" OBC like Mr. Modi. Mr. Yadav "is real, actual and a born backward class," she said. "And even today they consider Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav as their real and actual leader," she said.
