Azimio leader Raila Odinga wants the funeral service in honour of Mama Mukami Kimathi to be held at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi. Speaking at Lee Funeral Home on Sunday while paying homage to the late widow of freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi, Raila said Mukami should be honoured as a freedom heroine with a state funeral. “I would wish the final state funeral service in honour of the late Maitu Mukami Kimathi be held at Uhuru Gardens where Mau Mau freedom fighters were being tortured,” he said. Raila confirmed that he will attend the funeral service. President William Ruto has delegated a team that will oversee the state funeral arrangements for Mukami.
