KUALA LUMPUR: Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau said the public need not worry about debris from China’s Tiangong-1 Space Station falling on Malaysian soil. “We have standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deal with foreign debris if it entered the country’s space. He said this in reply to a question from Datuk Noraini Ahmad (BN-Parit Sulong) who wanted to know the status of the Chinese space station and steps the ministry would take if it entered the earth’s orbit. Some local and international media reported that the space station, which was left unmanned since 2013, is now out of control. The National Space Agency (ANGKASA) today issued a statement that the chances of debris from the Chinese space station falling on Malaysian soil was remote.--BERNAMA
