Movie Review: Split - McAvoy divides and conquers the screenRightster In Split, Kevin, a man with at least 23 different personalities, is compelled to abduct three teenage girls. SPLIT (R13, 117 mins) Directed by M Night Shyamalan ★★★★Clearly inspired by the success of last year's 10 Cloverfield Lane, M Night Shyamalan returns to his own twisted cinematic universe with this terrifically, tension-filled thriller. At its heart is a superbly twisted performance by James McAvoy (displaying more Filth than X-Man qualities here) who delivers multiple performances with aplomb. Rightster Director and Writer M. Night Shyamalan chats about Split before its New York Premiere.. And, in these troubled times of endless remakes, reboots and "reimaginings", it's nice to have his unique voice back.
