The rescue helicopter flew two injured montainbikers to Nelson Hospital on Saturday. Mountain bikers from Nelson and the West Coast were picked up by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter after they suffered injuries in separate incidents on Saturday. Pilot Euan Stratford said the rescue helicopter was called out to Sharlands Creek in the Hira Forest at 1pm on Saturday after a 55-year-old man came off his mountainbike. He suffered injuries to his head and shoulder and was flown to Nelson Hospital. She was also flown to Nelson Hospital.
