Motorists to be fined instantly upon breach of law

NTSA also plans to gazette a new law to charge an instant fine of Sh1,000 to bodaboda operators who break road rules. The police have also vowed to work together with the EACC officers to see to it that corruption does not affect the instant fine law when passed. The number of registered motorcycles has risen tremendously over the years and, therefore, the need to sensitise bodaboda operators on safety measures to reduce bodaboda accidents. The National Transport Service Authority (NTSA) has carried out a sensitisation programme on county commissioners, county commanders and regional traffic officers on motorcycle regulations. This is in a bid to reduce the number of accidents caused by bodaboda riders in the country, which are on the rise.
