NEW DELHI: The government will present Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill in the upcoming Parliament session that begins June 17, transport minister Nitin Gadkari said. Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill aims to address issues pertaining to road safety, third party insurance, regulation of taxi aggregators, among others, needs Rajya Sabha’s approval to implement the proposed amendments. Gadkari on Tuesday took over as the minister of road, transport and highways in National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA’s) second term. Apart from the current portfolio, he was also in charge of shipping, water resources and river development during 2014-19. Infrastructure creation has been an area of prime focus for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
