Patricia SamsonA mother of a convicted murderer on trial for discarding possible evidence against her son allegedly admitted to two witnesses she had “got rid of some stuff”. Colvin told the court she was a close friend of Samson’s youngest daughter and the trio worked together as caregivers in Invercargill. She said Samson then told her that she had gone there with her son and they “got rid of some stuff”. When Lee asked Samson what it was about she told her they had arrested another person in relation to Wilson’s murder. Under cross-examination, Lee said Samson told her that police would probably want to talk to Samson’s colleagues at work.
