A pregnant Christchurch woman fears she will go into labour with a high-risk breech birth after her planned caesarean section was postponed when junior doctors announced a two-day strike. Christchurch Women's clinical director of obstetrics and gynaecology, Janet Whineray, said during the industrial action women's health services would undertake emergency procedures only. It was unclear exactly how many RDA members would strike. The union said 3000 would strike and close to 300 union members wouldremain at work.
