Just days after the former minister quit the government to almost certainly run for president two opinion polls suggest the public don't actually want him to bother. A second poll on the same subject found that only 34 percent thought Macron should run for president, while two thirds felt the opposite way, according to Elabe. Both surveys were carried out on Tuesday night, after the minister resigned from the government, where he had served as President Hollande's Economy Minister.
