Morocco’s health ministry gave a go-ahead for home isolation of coronavirus cases as a surge in infections loaded hospitals in some major cities such as Casablanca and Tangier. The ministry said that asymptomatic infected people will be asked to receive their treatment at home provided that other family members or flat-mates leave the house for 14 days. If this was not possible, then medical services will monitor their health as contact cases. Infected people aged over 65 and those suffering from illnesses such as asthma and other respiratory diseases, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, impaired organs, cancer or lack of immunity shall receive treatment in hospitals. The new tally brings the number of total cases to 28500, including 435 deaths and 19994 recoveries.
