Morocco, Spain & Portugal Mull Joint World Cup Bid

Morocco’s bid to host the 2030 world cup keeps spilling ink. After speculations of a joint North African organization between Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, Moroccan papers are now speaking of underway preparations for an inter-continental bid between the North African Kingdom and its Iberian neighbors. According to Moroccan news outlet Al Yaoum 24, citing unidentified sources, the football associations of Morocco, Spain and Portugal have apparently been preparing what would represent the first bid comprised of parties from two continents. The Moroccan-Iberian bid will run against the joint bid of Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay and another bid by England. This will be Morocco’s sixth bid to host the World Cup after losing to the North American bid for the 2026 edition.
