Morocco, Libya discuss cooperation prospects in strategic planning – The North Africa Post


High Commissioner for Planning Ahmed Lahlimi Alami on Monday held talks with visiting Libyan Planning Council Chairman Meftah Abdelwahed on prospects for promoting cooperation in the field of strategic planning. The meeting, attended by Libyan Ambassador to Morocco Ibrahim Ataweel, discussed the importance of planning in economic development. Lahlimi underlined that Morocco is committed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), noting that the New Development Model (NMD) places capital emphasis on sustainable development. For his part, the Libyan Planning Council Chairman stressed that choosing Morocco as an economic partner is not fortuitous, as the Kingdom boasts great experience in planning and scored significant achievements in sustainable development. He said in this connection that Morocco’s HCP is a prestigious organization with extensive experience in statistical studies, and that this meeting will allow his Council to rebuild Libya’s development path.
