Morocco Hosts 1st Summit of World Merit Councils

The first edition of the World Merit Councils Summit, bringing together change-makers from around the world, opened Tuesday at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Ben Guerir, near Marrakech, to discuss inclusive opportunities and ways to empower youth to build a better future. Debates will focus on local and global actions made to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). World Merit, which has a program dedicated to SDGs, is a global community of millennials, taking actions to make a positive difference both locally and across the world. Together with the United Nations, World Merit focuses on tackling the Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to end extreme poverty, fix climate change and get rid of inequality. Each month, this NGO sets a number of different challenges that enable World merit members to develop their skills whilst making a positive impact.
