Middle East & North African entrepreneurs announced as finalists for the 2018 Cartier Women's Initiative AwardsEgypt’s Noha Khater, Jordan’s Hanan Khader and Lebanon’s Siroun Shamigian have been announced as Finalists representing the Middle East and North Africa for the 2018 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards. Designed to support women entrepreneurs, the Cartier Women's Initiative awards were established in 2006 by Cartier, the INSEAD business school and McKinsey & Company. With 18 finalists across the following regions: Latin America, North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa, and Asia-Pacific, the awards promote female-led and socially responsible startup companies. Inspired by her own career, Hanan launched an online learning platform that teaches computer programming to children and adolescents across the Middle East. Beirut-based Siroun runs an online platform that uses artificial intelligence and data analytics to help learn and teach Arabic to school-age children.
