More than 2,000 children need help to ditch ecstasy problem

An average of six under-18s sought treatment every day after taking the drug in the year up to April 2018. A total of 2,112 were referred for help – more than double the figure five years earlier. Last month Leah Heyes, 15, died after taking suspected MDMA – the pure form of ecstasy – and collapsing in a car park in Northallerton, North Yorks.
