Photo: NZTAAn ex-tropical cyclone looks set to bring heavy rain and severe gales to the South on the weekend and Fiordland, which is still reeling from last week's battering, is expected to bear the brunt. "There is still some uncertainty regarding the track and intensity of this low, but heavy rain and severe gales are likely to result. But at this stage there was nothing to suggest that the upper North Island would receive any of the rain.
