Many elderly were seen joined by four to five of their friends, returning to their old habits of morning tea gatherings with the social distancing measures further relaxed today, allowing six customers at a table in eateries instead of four. ”We used to have early tea gatherings with 10 others, sitting around the big table. It is good to see the measures being relaxed, so more of our friends can come back and join us,” said one of the customers. However, the manager claimed he believes the restaurant’s revenue will be much better with six customers at a table with higher spending. Bars and pubs could also allow a maximum of four customers at a table instead of two.-Photo: RTHK
