In line with Section 180, the SEC has adopted more digital transformation initiatives beyond the interim measures it had to adopt because of the pandemic. Allow me to share a brief description of the relevant notices and draft memorandum circulars issued by the commission. SEC Notice dated April 8, 2020This refers to the interim online registration system to facilitate the application for registration of one-person corporations (OPCs) and corporations with two to four incorporators. The applicant needs to provide a valid and existing email address in the system where the status of the application shall be posted. SEC Notice dated June 3, 2020This refers to the online applications for the CRMD, which implemented online platform applications through email submissions to assist the public in their day-to-day business transactions.
