Nyamira senator Kennedy Mong'are has urged the Gusii community not to be dragged into political coalitions by people who are out to satisfy their own interests. According to Mong'are, it is not yet time for the Gusii people to decide which political coalition they should align themselves with prior to the next general election. The lawmaker stated that there are a lot of things to be accomplished before choosing a coalition to join. In a phone interview with this writer, the senator said that a declaration of all Gusii people will be made in December where a choice will made to either join Jubilee or Cord. "If we must belong to CORD then the coalition must have fought corruption in its strong 23 counties and if it's jubilee then it should as well accomplish all the promises it made to Gusii people by December," said Mong'are.
