This dissolved in 2021 after a military coup involving the Sudanese army and the RSF, which derailed Sudan’s short-lived move into democracy. Sudanese refugees who fled the conflict in Sudan gather 1 July 2023 at the Zabout refugee Camp in Goz Beida, Chad. Neither the RSF nor the Sudanese army attended the summit, but they did praise the gathering on social media.
